Fluoroplastic fabrics are sheet-like composite materials made by impregnating and sintering fluoroplastic (PTFE) into industrial cloth such as glass cloth or aramid cloth.
Fluoroplastic fabric can be used in a wide variety of applications because there are abundant standards for the amount of PTFE impregnation, the thickness of the cloth used, etc.
This article fluoroplastic provides a detailed description of the features and applications of fabrics.

What is fluoroplastic fabric?
Fluoroplastic, which is used in fluoroplastic fabric, is a general term for plastic raw materials that contain fluorine atoms.
There are nine varieties available, including PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and PFA (perfluoroalkoxyalkane), and these plastics simultaneously have excellent properties such as heat resistance, lowest friction non-stick characteristics, chemical resistance, Insulation, and Weatherability.
Fluoroplastic are generally referred to as "Teflon™," but "Teflon™" is the product name of fluoroplastic manufactured by Chemours.
Fluoroplastic fabric is made by compounding this fluororesin with industrial cloth such as glass cloth or aramid cloth and processing it into a sheet. fluoroplastic fabric fluoroplastic in two types: the standard plain weave type and a mesh type with excellent air permeability and vapor resistance, and can be used in a wide range of applications that take advantage of the diverse properties of fluoroplastic, such as Conveyor belt for heat sealing, conveyor belts in food manufacturing processes, and cooking sheets for cooking.
Characteristics of fluoroplastic fabric
・ Heat resistance
It has top-class heat resistance and Low temperature resistance among plastics.
It can be used over a wide range of temperatures, from low to high.
・ Lowest friction
It has the lowest coefficient of dynamic friction of any solid.
With almost no friction resistance, the fabric surface is slippery, making it easy to transport even viscous materials and foods.
・ Non-stick characteristics
It has the property of not sticking to any substance.
This property is also known as releasing ability, and even if it does stick, it has the ability to be easily peeled off.
・Eelectric insulation
It has the highest level of electric insulation of any plastic.
Therefore, it can also be used in device manufacturing processes and electronic components.
・ Chemical resistance
It has a stable molecular structure and is inert to most chemicals and solvents.
Since it is less likely to produce impurities even when it comes into contact with strong acids or alkalis, it can be used as a mat when handling chemical solutions.
Main uses of fluoroplastic fabric
When using a heat sealing machine or press, heat and pressure above the melting point of the plastic film are applied, so heat resistance and releasing ability are required to prevent the film and heater from sticking together during compression.
In order to increase productivity, high temperatures of 150°C or more may be used and multiple bonding processes may be performed in a short period of time.
Therefore, by using our fluoroplastic fabric in the bonding parts of heat sealing machines and presses, the heater can be protected by heat resistance, and releasing ability prevent the film and heater from sticking together.
In addition, when used as a cooking sheet where heat resistance and releasing ability are required, dough for bread or cookies can be easily peeled off from the sheet when shaping, and it will not deteriorate even when used in the refrigerator, oven, range, etc. Unlike paper cooking sheets, it can be washed and reused many times.
Introduction of fluoroplastic fabric
There are a wide variety of standards for fluoroplastic fabric, including the amount of fluoroplastic impregnation and the thickness of the cloth used.
We handle the following fluoroplastic fabric. We can also make suggestions for specific applications, so please feel free to contact us.
FGF-400 Series
This is a standard fluoroplastic fabric product made by impregnating fluoroplastic and then baking it. It combines mechanical strength of glass cloth with the excellent properties of fluoroplastic.

MS Fabric
This fabric has a special resin layer formed on the surface, which improves releasing ability by approximately 10 times compared to conventional G-type fabrics. It has releasing ability especially for highly viscous materials, so it can be used as a release sheet when making bags with a mold or when making bags by fusion cutting (side sealing).

Dual Fabric
This is a functional composite material made by coating glass cloth fluoroplastic on the front side and silicone resin on the back side.It combines the grip function of silicone resin with the release and slip properties of fluoroplastic, so it can be used for work mats in food manufacturing, mats for handling chemicals, mouse pads, etc.

FGY-500-10 Blue
This is a fluoroplastic fabric that has been colored blue. Because it is colored, it is easier to identify than regular fabrics, and if it is damaged, it is easier to recognize it as a foreign object. Since it maintains the same properties as regular fabrics, it can be used as a release sheet, insulating material, heat insulation material, etc.
